'EastEnders' Ben sparks more Mitchell turmoil - Spoilers
Published Tuesday, Jan 24 2012, 00:01 GMT | By Daniel Kilkelly | 35 comments
EastEnders' Shirley Carter faces turbulent times next week as she tries desperately to get the Mitchell family back on track.
Ben's decision to report Phil (Steve McFadden) to the police with a false allegation recently caused shockwaves for his loved ones, but upcoming episodes see the Albert Square clan rally round the troubled teen in the hope that he will see sense.
When Shirley (Linda Henry) calls a Mitchell meeting to discuss the situation, she decides that the best option will be to kill Ben with kindness - believing that he'll then get back on side and help Phil to get out of his mess.
However, scheming Ben (Joshua Pascoe) can't be won round so easily and makes it clear to his family that it'll take more than a nice chat to change things.

Things get worse for the Mitchells when villainous Derek (Jamie Foreman) starts to interfere, telling Ben privately that he should visit his father in prison to have some 'fun' with him.
Taking the advice on board, Ben - now staying with Ian - finally tells Shirley that he's ready to see his father at the jail.

When Ben does come face-to-face with Phil, he instantly rejects his dad's attempts to bury the hatchet - making it clear that he wants him to stay in prison for a long time.
Ben's twisted outburst continues as he declares that he'll dance on his father's grave once he dies.
Phil and Shirley are left horrified by Ben's words and the realisation that he won't be changing his story over Stella anytime soon. Has Phil's best hope of a release been lost?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday, February 2 and Friday, February 3 on BBC One.
