'EastEnders' moves to 9pm on Friday, June 1 - scheduling update

The BBC has moved EastEnders due to the Diamond Jubilee next month.

EastEnders will air at 9pm on BBC One because of the royal celebrations on Friday, June 1.

Prince Charles will take the 8pm hour with A Jubilee Tribute to The Queen by The Prince of Wales on the flagship channel.

The Albert Square serial will return to its normal 8pm slot from the following Friday, while no other episodes have been rescheduled as yet.

EastEnders' rival Coronation Street broadcast in the 9pm slot earlier this month for a 'Big Week' to coincide with the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals.
