EastEnders star Tameka Empson will this week narrate a new documentary which offers tips on how to be a good scriptwriter.

The actress is presenting Writing For Walford, a one-off programme which gives a step-by-step guide of how to write a successful script for television dramas such as EastEnders and EastEnders: E20.

Airing as part of the BBC Learning Zone and aimed at students, Writing For Walford sees Empson go behind the scenes at EastEnders as she talks to writers, actors and directors from the soap.

Empson, better known as Albert Square's Kim Fox, will ask the show's team to reveal their best tips on how to "create gripping storylines, believable characters, relevant worlds, great TV scripts and ultimately, how to break into the industry".

The actress's co-star Ricky Norwood (Arthur 'Fat Boy' Chubb) will also feature on the programme, while contributors include BBC Controller of Drama and New Talent John Yorke, EastEnders' series story producer Deborah Sathe and the programme's series consultant Simon Ashdown.

Writing for Walford airs on Thursday, May 31 at 5.30am on BBC Two.
