Sharon Rickman's love life takes another twist on EastEnders in the New Year when Phil Mitchell asks her to marry him - this time for real.

The pair have recently teamed up for a fake engagement to help bring baby Lexi back to Albert Square, leaving Sharon's boyfriend Jack Branning feeling unsettled. However, Phil calls off the scam in tomorrow's (December 6) episode as he fears the truth is about to come out.

In early 2013, it becomes clear that Phil (Steve McFadden) may still feel a spark of attraction towards Sharon as they continue to spend time in each other's company as friends.

Not one to waste time, Phil later leaves Sharon (Letitia Dean) stunned by presenting her with an engagement ring and popping the question. Will Sharon be tempted by Phil?
