Kevin dies

As the dust settles in the deserted car park, Shirley is stunned when she realises the extent of Kevin's injuries. She tells him that she's going to the road for help but he panics – he doesn't want her to leave his side. She finds Kevin's phone in his pocket and calls for an ambulance.

Kevin's not optimistic and attempts to explain to Shirley the true extent of his injuries and that he's unlikely to make it out alive. Shirley, however, tries to divert his mind onto other things. Kevin begins to talk about his love for Denise and asks Shirley to pass a message onto her. Not able to bear the pain any longer, Kevin soon passes away…

Shirley returns to The Vic where everyone's lively in preparation for the New Year countdown. She walks across the room to Denise and asks her if she can have a word. In the hallway of the pub, Shirley is forced to tell Denise the heart-wrenching truth about Kevin.

The Wicks gather at Pat's and Carly returns home early from the club. The family sits in silence as Denise delivers shocking news of Kevin's death…

Elsewhere, Heather tries to do some more digging about Vinnie; and Dawn pulls a random man in the club before getting into a cat fight with Roxy.
