Bradley returns to Walford and on his way back to Dot's, he bumps into Stacey. The conversation turns awkward when Bradley asks her if she's found herself a solicitor yet, since there's no point in hanging around. Max, meanwhile, is puzzled by a mysterious text message he received last night.
On entering the house, Bradley's shocked to find Clare living there but she soon lends a sympathetic ear and listens to Bradley's heartache. She suggests that Max fell for Stacey because of the money as that's what girls are impressed with.
Later, Clare calls Max and admits that it was her that's been sending him the messages and that she only wants to talk to him about some investments. Tanya, meanwhile, pulls Stacey to one side and asks her for a favour. She explains how Max will undoubtedly deny his affair and wants some sort of statement from Stacey admitting what happened.
Max turns up at Booty to see Clare. He's adamant that she's up to something since she works for Tanya. Clare denies helping Tanya out and tells him that she simply finds him attractive. Brushing her off, Max leaves. It's not long before Clare's eyes are firmly fixated back on Ian
Tanya's been drinking all afternoon and the doorbell goes. She stumbles to the door and sees Max standing in front of her with Abi she'd forgotten to pick her up.
