The Square turns out for Frank's funeral

A figure sitting in a car, dressed in black is watching over the Square. Pat, Ricky, Diane and Honey are all outside making preparations for Frank's funeral. Upstairs in The Vic, meanwhile, Peggy's reminiscing about Frank.

Ricky's in the house trying to get hold of Bianca on the telephone as he wants Liam to be there at his granddad's funeral, while Dot's asking whether Janine will be coming back at all. Ricky and Diane, however, haven't heard from her.

Out on the Square, Ricky and his fiancée Melinda are talking about putting an offer on a flat – money which Melinda tries to wangle from 'daddy'. Meanwhile, Peggy debates with Pat whether she should ever married Frank. Peggy's cynical about everything to do with Frank, calling him a show-horse. Pat soon puts Peggy in her place and storms off home.

Back home, Pat's furious with Ricky and Diane for not telling her that Frank was ill. They hand her a present, however, and she goes into the next room to open the box alone.

The Square's residents gather to pay their last respects to Frank. The plumed horses pull onto the Square as Janine steps out of her car. Pat immediately asks Janine if she's back for the will reading, but Janine rebukes her comments and explains that she's come to mourn her father's passing.

At the crematorium, Peggy takes her seat beside Pat, while Bianca and her kids are thrown out onto the streets.
