Shaun Williamson has claimed that viewers will be surprised by his performance in The Bill.

The actor revealed that his two-episode stint as gang leader Dave Monks was a refreshing change from his old role as EastEnders character Barry Evans.

"If I've been typecast as Barry in the past, I have no regrets," Shaun told the Daily Star. "When people see me as Monks they'll know I can play dirty."

Monks comes under suspicion during an international drugs smuggling investigation at Sun Hill.

Speaking about his role in June, Williamson explained: "I am really chuffed with the character and storyline I have been given and playing a villain is something I want to do more of!"
