Ex-EastEnders actor Bill Treacher has landed himself a role in ITV cop drama, The Bill.
75-year-old Treacher, who played green-fingered Arthur Fowler in the East-End soap for 11 years, is returning to our screens as yet another dodgy character - prisoner Morris Leatherhead.
This will be Treacher's first TV role since he was bumped off in the BBC soap 10 years ago. His Bill character, Morris, will be the cellmate of Sun Hill regular Sergeant Dale 'Smithy' Smith (Alex Walkinshaw), who is falsely imprisoned for the death of his lover.
An insider told The Sun: "Smithy is put behind bars when his bid to start a new life with gangster's wife Louise Larson goes wrong. He is hauled in by cops after being framed for Louise's death."
They added: "Things go from bad to worse and Smithy ends up sharing a cell with Morris, who is supposed to be looking out for him."
Treacher's scenes are due to air at the end of March.
