Ali Bastian reveals 'Bill' preparation

The Bill's latest recruit Ali Bastian has revealed how her loved ones helped her to prepare for the role.

The actress - who starred as Becca on Hollyoaks for five years - joins Sun Hill next week as PC Sally Armstrong.

"My girlfriend has just finished training for the police and she has been a great help for giving me advice. She's even taught me some holds for when we carry out arrests," Ali told The Sun.

"It’s quite a physical role and my boyfriend Nick Kennedy who plays rugby for London Irish has been trying to toughen me up by doing tackles on me!"
