'Dynasty' star to make 'Bill' cameo
Former Dynasty actress Emma Samms has landed a guest role in ITV1 police drama, The Bill.

The 46-year-old actress - who appeared as Fallon Carrington Colby in the hit 80s series - is to play Ella Winstanley, a dowdy housewife who is a far cry from the glamorous lifestyle synonymous with her former role.

Speaking of her cameo appearance in an episode due to be screened in September, Samms said: "This is the opposite end of the scale to a glamorous role, in fact, it's an exercise in discarding vanity, which is very liberating."

She added: "It's a pleasure to work with so many lovely people, and there's no way I could not have taken the role as it's my mum's favourite programme!"

Meanwhile, Emma’s on-screen husband is to be played by 44-year-old Stephen McGann - youngest of the famous acting brothers - who is most noted for his role as Sean Reynolds in Emmerdale.

When Ella disappears, Sun Hill officers soon discovers her kneeling beside an injured man with blood on her hands and is subsequently arrested for attempted murder.

Emma also appeared as Amanda Clay in BBC One daytime medical drama, Doctors.
