Axed Corrie star signs up for 'Bill' stint

The actress is currently filming her final scenes as Mel Morton on the Weatherfield soap after being axed last month. Her on-screen family, including Michael Starke's character Jerry, are also being written out of the show.
According to The Sun, Edmondson will appear on The Bill for three weeks. Though her Corrie character is a policewoman, it is believed that Emma will not be wearing a uniform at Sun Hill.
Emma and her Morton co-stars were said to be "gutted" after being told that they were leaving the Street.
