288: Gabriel holds Andrea hostage

It’s Armageddon day down at Sun Hill… PC Andrea Dunbar is lambasted by Inspector Gina Gold for betraying her colleagues with her incessant station scoops. And DI Neil Manson realises that the exposé has severely compromised his position. Is their relationship well and truly over?

Meanwhile Andrea is called to give evidence at the trial of serial rapist Alan Kennedy, but all her credibility has gone out of the window with the revelation of her true identity. She is ripped to pieces in the witness stand and it’s all too much for DS Samantha Nixon who decks her when Kennedy is acquitted on Andrea’s account…

Disgraced Andrea is escorted out of the nick by angry Sergeant Dale Smith. She implores for one last chance to redeem herself by getting the evidence that will implicate PC Gabriel Kent for murder and misdemeanours…

Elsewhere PCSO Colin Fairfax shows himself up as a racist, and spits in PC Leela Kapoor face. Gina gives Colin marching orders, and DC Ken Drummond is told to track him down after furious Colin sets off the fire alarm. Ken finds a drunken Colin and goes to bring him in. The next thing he knows, he wakes up in a van full of petrol heading towards the Sun Hill front office. Is this the end for Ken?

Meanwhile Andrea is being held hostage by Gabriel in a store room after he has seen the evidence she has on him. It’s the moment of truth for the crazed copper and he confesses all his crimes…

Elsewhere PC Reg Hollis waits at a train station to propose to SRO Marilyn Chambers. When she doesn’t show up, he calls her mobile obviously not realising that the front office is doused in petrol. Will Reg’s romantic call trigger an explosion?

Back in the store room Andrea is trapped under fallen debris… With all his evil secrets out in the open will Gabriel leave Andrea to burn?
