'Lou Beale' to guest in 'The Bill'

Former EastEnders matriarch Anna Wing is to make a guest appearance in The Bill.

Anna - who is famed for playing Walford legend Lou Beale - takes on the role of May, a feisty pensioner who doesn’t always stay on the right side of the law, especially when she is caught up in a murky web of vicious beatings and dodgy drug deals.

May surprises herself when she ends up assisting Inspector Gina Gold (Roberta Taylor) and PC Will Fletcher (Gary Lucy) with a murder investigation on the down-beat estate where she lives.

The 92-year-old's appearance is due to transmit mid September.
