Metcalfe: I don't miss 'Housewives'

Rex Features

Jesse Metcalfe has confessed that he does not miss starring in Desperate Housewives.

Speaking to Parade, the actor said that he was grateful for his career break on the ABC drama but felt he needed to leave to establish a film career.

"Truthfully I don't [miss it]," he said. "Obviously, it was just a huge opportunity for me. And it was a great time, really a lot of fun. But leaving the show was a blessing because I could have still been playing John Rowland five years later. Now I've gotten to play some really interesting, complex characters in feature films."

Metcalfe revealed that one of his recent memorable acting jobs was starring with Michael Douglas in Beyond A Reasonable Doubt.

"It's hard to forget he's an icon," he said. "In some of the scenes I was just trying so hard. And sometimes it's not good because it looks like you're overacting."
