S02E01: 'Next'

When Mike arrives home, he finds Zach holding Susan hostage and has to find a way to rescue them both. Zach is soon looking down the barrel at Mike and, in a bid to save him, Susan scrambles for the gun - the roles are reversed and the troubled teen escapes, running off into the night.

It’s been a year since Mary Alice’s death and the previous night’s scuffle has resulted in the police intervening. Julie overhears Mike talking to the boys in blue where he reveals that he doesn’t want to press charges, claiming that Susan is overreacting about the whole situation.

Gabrielle gets a surprise when she finds John attempting to move into the Solis mansion.

The time finally comes for Bree to break the news of Rex’s death to the other housewives. The peace is disturbed when Rex's mother, Phyllis, rolls up for her son’s funeral, driving Bree, Andrew and Danielle crazy at the same time.

Meanwhile Lynette attends an interview for an account executive position at a top ad agency, now that Tom has agreed to stay home with the kids. Her boss, Nina, is skeptical about hiring a mother of four, so Lynette makes a big effort to impress her – until Tom has an accident which leaves Lynette, quite literally, holding the baby…

Gabrielle, feeling guilty about her unfaithfulness, dutifully begins visiting Carlos in jail where she admits her affair. Gabrielle’s declaration isn’t enough for Carlos – he wants a parernity test. Gabrielle has no other option but to attend the clinic where she serves as a shoulder to cry on for a devastated mother…

The police call for Mike to identify a body. Revelations are rife at the mortuary when Mike finally reveals to Susan that Zach is, in fact, his son and thankfully not the boy which lay on the table in front of them.

And, the Applewhite family settle in to Wisteria Lane where their dark secret which they harbour starts to unravel…
