S03E13: Mika walks in on Davina and Tom

This is a big day for Head Teacher Rachel, one she is dreading. Rachel has no choice but to support her blackmailer’s bid for Waterloo Road’s new training centre at the LEA.

It’s work placement week and Janeece is thrilled to be working in a museum. Maxine’s not so happy, mopping up after elderly people at Kirkby Mills Retirement Home. Janeece’s dreams are quickly shattered however and she runs off. Spotted by Rachel she’s sent to the retirement home to join Maxine.

The ‘Lessons for Life’ kids, are being taunted. Paul tells Eddie they’ve been labelled ‘sub-normal’. Tom and Eddie give them more responsibility, making them ‘prefects, but unfortunately, the boys take their responsibilities too seriously.

Grantly Budgen overhears Davina admitting she hasn’t prepared for his lesson, and humiliates her in class. Davina complains to Tom, she wants to become a teacher.

Rachel arrives at the LEA meeting hearing Councillor Philby declaring that the only frontrunner is Ladmore Construction. Rachel desperately fights to get Hordley back into contention, and her reputation intact. Returning to the meeting after lunch, she overhears Philby on his phone taking backhanders. Rachel plays her trump card, if it doesn’t go to Hordley, she’ll resign, letting Philby know she overheard him.

At Kirby Mills, supervisor Linda takes a dislike to Janeece. Sulking, Janeece meets Bessie and to Janeece’s surprise, they hit it off. Things go awry however, when they hit the sherry.

Davina’s at Tom’s and the sexual tension overwhelms them, ending up in the bed, but unfortunately for them, Mika walks in.
