Lucy and Pete get close

Karen and Matt’s marriage disintegrates even further, as Matt declares his right of custody over Grace. Robert’s infidelity with Geri, and her accusations of rape, cause shockwaves among the Davenports. Lucy and Johnny plot to set Pete up, then Johnny beds Charlotte. And after sleeping with Yasmin, Gabriel reveals his plans to leave Charnham.
Following the shock discovery of his wife’s affair with Kelly, Matt seeks retribution, stunning Karen with the announcement that he wants a divorce and plans to leave her nothing. After Matt and Grace move into Nikki’s flat, Mr Ellis hits his soon-to-be ex with more bad news; Kelly left the country without signing a parental order, which leaves him as Grace’s rightful parent. Devastated, Karen seeks legal advice. You’ll need a good solicitor, Mrs E. Meanwhile, Charnham’s other rocky marriage seems to be holding up slightly better: Ginny is sticking by Robert, and hopes to keep the rape allegations secret from the rest of the family. Fat chance: Cameron soon fills Jude in on the accusations against the Davenport patriarch, and when Jude confronts Geri, he’s astonished by her insistence that they are true, and aghast when Robert confesses that he slept with Geri! Cameron, too, is appalled when Ginny reveals that Ms Evans has formally accused his dad of rape. And once Jessica and Lewis are told as well, the entire family is left reeling.
Elsewhere, Lucy begins to worry that her set-up against Pete will backfire, prompting Johnny to assure her that they must see the plan through, so that Charlotte can see what Pete is really like. And when Pete loses his temper at Ms Day for failing to inform him of Johnny’s reappearance in town, it seems as though Callan is doing most of their work for them. However, when Lucy’s moment of deceit arrives, and she schemes to trap Pete by kissing him, an amused Pete plays along and follows her into the bedroom. But before Lucy has time to panic, Pete’s little game backfires on him, as Charlotte witnesses their embrace. Callan is devastated and flies after her, but it’s Johnny who comforts her. Shocked by Johnny’s confession that Lucy tricked Pete, Charlotte nonetheless makes up her mind about the rotter once and for all, and sleeps with Johnny.
And there’s trouble between two other Charnham lovers: having slept with Yasmin, Gabriel now tells her he must leave town, claiming Rosa and Jade must come first.
