Corrie's Kat Kelly signs for another year

Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly has signed on the dotted line for another 12-month stint in the ITV soap.

The 28-year-old actress, who plays brash Becky Granger on the Cobbles, is said to have impressed the soap's chiefs from the moment she joined.

A source told The Mirror: "The bosses love Katherine."

At the end of this month, her character will become the 50th barmaid at the Rovers Return. Becky recently also shared a night of passion with pub landlord Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).

She said: "I'm really looking forward to it. These are exciting times."
