Corrie actor struck with mystery illness
Coronation Street's Simon Gregson has reportedly taken time off work due to a mystery illness.

The 33-year-old, who plays Rovers Return landlord Steve McDonald, has taken a two-week break from filming and is said to be 'recovering at home'.

During his time off, he has supposedly been spotted shopping and driving co-star Craig Charles (Lloyd Mullaney) to his Cheshire home.

A Weatherfield source told The Mirror: "When someone is off sick the rumour mill goes into overdrive. Simon's a top bloke. We're sure he'll tell us what's been the matter."

A spokesperson for the soap has confirmed that he will return to filming later this week.
