The actor, who plays Steve McDonald on the ITV1 soap, took two weeks off after being struck down by a mystery illness. Corrie sources admitted that his temporary departure had resulted in the rumour mill going "into overdrive".
Gregson filmed scenes with co-star Kym Ryder (Michelle Connor) in Manchester yesterday and took advantage of the opportunity to prove he is feeling better. He was spotted entertaining Kym by pulling faces between takes.
An onlooker told The Mirror: "Simon was really on top form."
