Illness disrupts Corrie filming

Coronation Street has been forced to cancel filming as several stars have taken time off ill.

Kym Ryder (Michelle Connor) and Johnny Dixon (Darryl Morton) have both recently taken sick days. Earlier, Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) took two weeks off with a mystery bug while Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) came down with laryngitis.

A source told The Sun: "They're dropping like flies - it's more like Sickie Street these days and the bosses are getting worried."

A spokesman for the soap confirmed that several scenes were axed due to cast illness.
