Corrie star O'Brien suffers hip problems
Coronation Street star Gray O'Brien has been suffering from hip problems on the set of the ITV1 soap.

The actor, who plays factory boss Tony Gordon, has been using a walking stick in recent weeks after receiving treatment on his right side. Show producers quickly changed scripts to incorporate his walking difficulties into the programme, introducing a storyline which sees Tony on crutches following a motorcycle accident.

O'Brien has told show chiefs that he now requires treatment for his other hip. Scenes were rescheduled at the weekend and there could be further disruption ahead.

Gray's character Tony will soon be involved in a high-profile murder mystery plot, centring around Rob James-Collier's character Liam Connor.

A source told The Mirror: "We hope Gray won't need surgery as he's got a hectic time ahead."
