Wild baboon disrupts Corrie DVD filming
Coronation Street stars were horrified by an encounter with a wild baboon as they filmed a one-off DVD special in South Africa.

Jennie McAlpine (Fiz Brown), Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland), Wendi Peters (Cilla Battersby-Brown) and Sam Aston (Chesney Battersby-Brown) were shooting a scene at an exclusive hotel in Sun City when the creature decided to make its presence known.

"It climbed up the building, jumped in through an open window and got on a table," an insider told The People. "It grabbed a plastic prop banana from the fruit bowl but threw it away in disgust after taking a bite!

"Everyone fell about laughing after hotel staff moved it, but there were nervous faces at first."

The spin-off follows the Battersby-Browns after they are invited to Sun City by Cilla, who is working at a casino there. It will be the first time Cilla has been seen since Peters quit the show last year.
