Speaking to the Press Association, the 31-year-old, who played hairdresser Fiona Middleton in the ITV soap, noted that the show has changed dramatically in the 10 years since her departure.
She said: "Fiona was such a brilliant character and I got such fantastic scenes to play. My memories of Corrie are just having such a brilliant time, learning so much; so different to how it is now.
"When I was there, there was only me, Tracy Shaw and Chloe Newsome as the young people. Now there's a slight Hollyoaks kind of feel. And they're always out at these different parties."
Griffin added that producers on the show had strict rules forbidding female stars from appearing in lads' magazine photoshoots. "Not that I necessarily would have wanted to," she said.
The actress, who has subsequently gone on to star in Holby City, Cutting It and Waterloo Road, admitted that she would like to make a return to the soap.
"I would like to reappear in it and, up to now, I've never been asked," she said. "When Suranne Jones was in it, I really wanted to go back to stir that up."
