Corrie actress wants Rovers role

Coronation Street's Helen Flanagan hopes that producers will consider giving her a stint behind the bar at the Rovers Return.

The 18-year-old, who plays tarty teen Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, has recently been in a number of scenes in the Rovers Return and revealed to DS in a recent interview that she is excited about her character being able to officially drink in the Weatherfield watering hole.

She said: "I've had quite a few scenes in The Rovers lately and that's been fantastic, but I'm definitely looking forward to more."

She added that she hopes Corrie bosses will consider giving her a job behind the bar, saying: "It'd be great if Rosie had her first drink thrown over her and I'd love for Rosie to be a Corrie barmaid. I don't know if the producers will ever go down that route, but it'd be amazing if they did."
