Corrie actor promises more from character
Coronation Street star Graeme Hawley has hinted that viewers could be seeing more of his character in the New Year.

Next week, the 34-year-old actor's unhinged character, taxi driver John Stape, is arrested when girlfriend Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) discovers that he has had former flame Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) locked in his gran's attic for five weeks.

However, despite the storyline reaching a seemingly-natural conclusion, Hawley suggested that we may see more of John after Christmas.

Speaking to Inside Soap, he said: "His case will go to trial, so we'll see what happens. There's more of a story to tell with John because he's not a typical villain - he's a good person who did a very bad thing.

"It'd be interesting to see if he can prove that he's not really a psycho, or whether he'll just continue screwing up his life. I think John's redeemable - the romantic side of me would like to see him forgiven."

He added: "But maybe it'd be best to just go down in a blaze of glory."
