Corrie chiefs search for Sophie boyfriend

Coronation Street producers have started searching for an actor to play Sophie Webster's boyfriend on the soap, according to a report.

The show's chiefs are also said to be contacting drama schools as they look for performers who will play the teen's classmates in future storylines.

Sophie, played by Brooke Vincent, is being brought to the forefront on the ITV1 soap for the first time - with reports suggesting that she will soon be at the centre of a pregnancy plot.

An insider told The Sun: "Brooke's a fabulous actress and we want to cash in on that."

Michael Le Vell, who plays Vincent's on-screen father Kevin, recently predicted that she could become a Corrie legend in the future.
