Corrie actors name new daughters

Coronation Street actors Alison King and Jack P Shepherd have announced the names of their newborn children.

King and partner Adam Huckett decided on the name Daisy Mae for their two-week-old baby girl, who was born weighing 6lbs 7oz.

Shepherd and girlfriend Lauren Shippey, meanwhile, decided to call their fortnight-old daughter Nyla Rae.

Shepherd, who plays David Platt in the ITV soap, returns to work in a few weeks, while King (Carla Gordon) is expected to resume filming in the autumn.

Earlier this month, Wanda Opalinska - Weatherfield factory worker Vicki Dankowska - gave birth to a 7lb 5oz baby boy called Rafal.
