The 62-year-old actress played the role of Ken's (William Roache) 'other woman' Martha for three months between January and May this year, before she sailed off down a canal alone.
Her storyline saw a meeting of minds between Martha and Ken as they fell for each other's sophistication and literary prowess.
After Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) informed Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) of his father's affair, Peter was shocked to discover that Ken intended to leave for a new life with Martha on her barge after consummating their relationship.
However, in a last-minute change of heart, Ken jumped ship and opted to stay in Weatherfield with his wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride).
Speaking of her potential return, Beacham said: "The producers are interested in bringing Martha back so I may well be returning to the Street."
She added: "Martha was a very strong woman and I personally feel like she had too much dignity to go back to Ken after the way he ended things between them.
"She is such a great character to play and I have a lot of respect for her, I think she's very graceful."
A spokesperson for the soap, however, confirmed that there are no current plans for Martha to return to the cobbles.
