King tipped for explosive Corrie comeback

King will return to screens in October after taking time off from the ITV1 soap for maternity leave. The actress and her partner Adam Huckett welcomed the arrival of baby girl Daisy Mae in February.
The star's alter-ego Carla Connor was last seen fleeing the Street after husband Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien) confessed to the murder of her brother-in-law Liam (Rob James-Collier).
In a further plot twist, since Carla's departure, villainous Tony has been seen growing close to Smith's character Maria Connor, Liam's widow.
Speaking of her expectations for Carla's comeback, Smith revealed: "It would all hit the fan - she's the only person who knows for sure that Tony killed Liam, apart from Jimmy [Dockerson] and he's never going to say anything!
"She's got the knowledge that could blow this domestic lifestyle he's created for himself right out of the water. I don't know how Maria would cope either - she's come full circle now, she's starting to fall in love with Tony and she trusts him with her life."
Earlier this year, Coronation Street boss Kim Crowther promised an "exciting new direction" for Tony's character in the autumn.
