O'Brien: 'Corrie return might be a strain'

Tina O'Brien has admitted that she is unsure over whether she should return to Coronation Street.

The actress, who played Sarah Platt on the ITV1 soap, quit her role in April 2007 after deciding to pursue new projects.

She later announced that she was keen to put her career on hold following the birth of her first daughter Scarlett in October.

Last weekend, it was claimed that O'Brien is being lined up for a return to Weatherfield, with an explosive Christmas storyline planned for her character.

However, the star has now revealed that she fears a comeback could cause problems for her relationship with Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw on the show.

Speaking to Take 5 magazine, she explained: "He's said he'd like my character back. But seeing each other in work all the time and being a couple might be a strain. That said, it's still a possibility."

O'Brien added that she currently remains a stay-at-home mum and has made no firm decisions on when to start working again.

She added: "Scarlett doesn't seem clingy, so I don't imagine it will be a problem. It will be when I'm ready and it would have to be the right job."
