In Pictures: Carla fights for her life in Corrie

Published Friday, Oct 23 2009, 11:00 BST | By Kris Green
Coronation Street's Carla Gordon is left fighting for her life during tonight's episode of the Weatherfield soap after Tony Gordon orders his henchman Jimmy Dockerson (Robert Beck) to kill again.

However, as a struggle between Jimmy and Carla ensues in her flat, Carla - played by 36-year-old Alison King - cracks Jimmy over the head with a wrought iron candlestick holder.

Speaking to DS about tonight's dramatic turn of events, King said: "Tony wants Carla out of the way and Carla wants him out of the way, so I keep arranging to meet him but he doesn't show up and I'm left with this skulky figure of Jimmy standing in front of me."

Coronation Street airs tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.
