Corrie's Rosie gets promo girl plot

Rex Features

Coronation Street's Rosie Webster is to become a promotions girl in a new storyline on the Weatherfield soap.

The mischievous teenager, played by Helen Flanagan, will be seen wearing rollerskates, hotpants and a boob tube displaying the message "Pop my cherry" as she advertises a cherry-flavoured vodka at bars and clubs, The Sun reports.

According to the newspaper, Flanagan was "terrified" when she heard about the plot because she is not a confident skater.

A source said: "Helen was speechless when she found out she'd have to skate on camera. She's been practising every time she's had some spare time."

Rosie's latest job is said to anger her father Kevin (Michael Le Vell). However, it is believed that the outspoken Webster remains thrilled by the prospect of meeting footballers and TV stars at her club appearances.

The storyline is expected to begin next month.
