Worth: 'I designed Gail's wedding dress'

ITV

Coronation Street actress Helen Worth has revealed that she designed Gail Platt's latest wedding dress.

Unlucky-in-love Gail will be seen tying the knot for the fifth time tomorrow after deciding that her long-term happiness lies with partner Joe McIntyre, played by Reece Dinsdale.

Speaking to GMTV about the gown Gail wears for her big day, Worth explained: "I loved my wedding dress. Costume were very kind. They let me design it so it was as I wanted it."

The soap star hinted that she was less impressed by the dress chosen when Gail married first husband Brian Tilsley in 1979.

She said: "The first one came out of stock. It was old when I wore it, and I had to buy my own shoes!"

Worth recently told DS that Gail is "fortunate" to have found so many partners.
