Corrie's Marsh keen to work with Kate Ford

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has revealed that she wants her character Michelle Connor to feature in storylines with returnee Tracy Barlow.

Show producers recently announced that Kate Ford is to reprise her role as the Weatherfield superbitch following a three-year break.

Jailed Tracy will return to screens later this year for the funeral of her grandmother Blanche Hunt. She is then expected to become embroiled in a 'much-loved' character's prison storyline before making a full-time comeback towards the end of 2010.

Commenting on the development, Marsh told New magazine: "I was delighted to read that Kate Ford is returning to Corrie - we're always the last to know on set! I really love Kate and she's a great actress. She's definitely been missed and we need a baddie now Gray O'Brien, who played Tony Gordon, has gone.

"But it's sad that her return is tied in with Blanche Hunt's funeral after Maggie Jones passed away in December."

She added: "I only got to work with Kate very briefly before she left, so hopefully we'll have some storylines together this time around."
