Corrie's Dev, Sunita 'destined to reunite'

Jimmi Harkishin and Shobna Gulati have suggested that their Coronation Street alter egos are destined to be together.

Gulita's character Sunita first arrived in Weatherfield in 2001 when she sought help from Dev after her family arranged a marriage for her.

In 2004, Dev and Sunita finally got together and eventually married. Later, she gave birth to twins but left the Street when she discovered that Dev had fathered several children by different women.

Gulati reprised her role late last year and viewers have seen Dev and Sunita grow closer in recent weeks. Asked if the pair are destined to reunite, Gulati told DS: "Destiny's written in the stars."

Harkishin added: "Yes, that means! Yes!"
