Corrie's Blanche 'to make jibes in will'
Coronation Street legend Blanche Hunt is to make a number of humourous jibes about her family and friends from beyond the grave, it has been revealed.

The battleaxe is to make her final put-downs when her last will and testament is read out on screen later this year, The Mirror reports.

It is thought that Blanche will have the last laugh on newsagent Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden) by making him believe that he will inherit something - only to reveal that she merely wants to cancel her subscription to Crossword Monthly.

She is also expected to insult barmaid Betty Williams (Betty Driver) by declaring that she wants Elliot pies at her funeral and "definitely none of those terrible Betty's Hotpots".

Meanwhile, Blanche's son-in-law Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) also fails to escape her acid tongue as she complains that "he'll try to bury me on the cheap".

Blanche will get an on-screen send-off in May after passing away.

In real life, Maggie Jones - who played the Weatherfield favourite from 1974 - died in December following a period of ill health.
