Corrie stars cried over cancer storyline
Coronation Street stars Brooke Vincent and Helen Flanagan have admitted to shedding real-life tears over their screen mum Sally Webster's cancer storyline.

The pair, who play Webster sisters Sophie and Rosie respectively, admitted that they felt emotional when filming the aftermath of Sally's breast cancer diagnosis in scenes with co-star Sally Whittaker.

Vincent told The Sun: "We got into the role that much, we filmed it all together so we didn't have to come back and re-cry. Sally's like our mum. We're like a little family and if one of us starts crying, the others start crying too."

She continued: "It's just one of those things that you've got to take so seriously. We wanted to get it right because it affects a lot of people.

"The writing really made us cry. Sal was amazing in it and her performance led us so much."

Meanwhile, Flanagan commented: "It was really emotional to film."

Earlier this year, Sally underwent a successful lumpectomy operation to remove the growth on her breast.
