Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has revealed that she would like to see Tina McIntyre's mum Anna back on the cobbles.

In an interview with DS, Keegan confirmed that she wants the soap's producers to focus on the pair's strained relationship in a forthcoming storyline.

Weatherfield favourite Tina has recently suffered the loss of her dad Joe (Reece Dinsdale) after he died in a boating accident, but Anna - played by Susan Mitchell - has been absent from screens throughout the plot.

Keegan explained: "We saw her last about a year and a half ago before Joe came in properly and we know that she and Tina don't really get on.

"It'd be really nice to explore Tina's relationship with her mum and to compare it with how she was with her dad."

The actress also discussed how life on set has changed since Dinsdale's departure, commenting: "There's definitely a void. Nobody's filled that void yet, though, and I don't think they ever will.

"There's no-one like Reece. He's such a lovely man. Everyone says the same thing - I've never heard one bad word said about Reece."
