The actress, who plays Michelle Connor on the show, played down reports that the programme's team are panicking over what may happen when Collinson takes office in the summer.
Collinson was recruited for the long-running drama last November after current series producer Kim Crowther decided that she wanted to step down after two-and-a-half years at the helm.
Writing in her New magazine column, Marsh insisted: "It was recently claimed the cast are worried new producer Phil Collinson will axe characters.
"I think you're prone to being apprehensive when a new boss arrives, but we're all excited too."
Former Doctor Who producer Collinson will be present for a substantial handover period before officially taking charge later this year.
