Dorgu: 'I hoped for more dramatic exit'

Tupele Dorgu has reportedly revealed that she had hoped for a more exciting Coronation Street exit.

Dorgu's character, Kelly Crabtree, left in tears last night after being fired from the Underworld.

"I would have liked my last scene to be more dramatic," said the actress, who announced her decision to leave Weatherfield in Novemeber.

Dorgu, 32, told The Sun: "When I chose to leave they said they were already so far along in storylines there was only so much they could do. Kelly wasn't involved heavily with a lot of people so it was easier to do that."

The actress made her first appearance on the soap in September 2004 and recently said that it was the right time to leave. "It's actually a great place to work, but I think in terms of the character, I wasn't doing as much as I wanted to and she wasn't developing," she said.
