Keith Duffy has reportedly praised Coronation Street scriptwriters for "brainwashing" viewers into believing that he is irresistible to women.

The Boyzone star, 35, thanked show bosses for his reinvention as a sex symbol following his return to the soap last year.

Duffy, who plays ladies' man Ciaran McCarthy, said that he can't wait to move on to his next on-screen conquest.

"I was starting to feel like I was getting too old. But Corrie has turned me into a sex symbol once more. They’ve hinted I may bed Michelle, Liz, Carla and Becky so I can’t wait to find out," he said. "My guess is that it will be Michelle first. I can’t complain about having scenes like that with Kym!"

Duffy recently denied reports that he is leaving the ITV1 soap, explaining that he loves playing the Weatherfield womaniser and has the time to be in the soap and to honour his Boyzone commitments. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
