Duffy: 'Corrie cameo for Lynch axed'

Keith Duffy has reportedly revealed that plans for his Boyzone bandmate Shane Lynch to appear on Coronation Street have been axed.

Duffy, who plays barman Ciaran McCarthy, told Inside Soap that the idea for Lynch's cameo came after he visited the set of the ITV1 show last year.

"Corrie is my thing, my little baby," he said. "Shane visited the set just before Christmas and we were going to sit him in the corner of the Rovers with a pint. In the end, we decided it might be a little bit confusing for the viewers."

Duffy returned as Weatherfield's womaniser in February after a break of nearly five years.
