Last week, it was revealed that the actor had landed a new deal which will see him remain in the role of Sean Tully for another year.
Marsh told New: "I'm really glad Antony Cotton will be staying on at Corrie after renewing his contract for 12 months. He's great fun and is very bubbly on set. He's always making us laugh with the outrageous things he says!"
The 34-year-old also said that she was pleased about the recent decision to award MBEs to long-standing cast members Barbara Knox (Rita Sullivan) and Eileen Derbyshire (Emily Bishop).
She commented: "It was a long time coming, but it makes it extra special that the honours came in Corrie's 50th year."
Reports last month suggested that Marsh had signed a two-year deal to continue in the part of Weatherfield barmaid Michelle Connor.
