Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he wants to guest-star in Coronation Street.

The Manchester United defender said that he would like to appear alongside Jack P. Shepherd's character, David Platt, as part of the soap's upcoming 50th anniversary, according to The Sun.

The 31-year-old said: "I wouldn't mind getting hold of that David Platt. He is too naughty.

"I would come in and be the hard taskmaster and tell him to leave that Tina alone. Then hopefully he would stop picking on people."

Snoop Dogg has also expressed a desire to appear on the show, claiming to have watched the soap for 11 years.
