Ferdinand denies seeking Corrie role

Rio Ferdinand has denied reports that he wants a role in Coronation Street.

Reports yesterday claimed that the Manchester United defender was keen to guest-star in the ITV1 soap so that he could help sort out "naughty" David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd).

On Twitter the 31-year-old wrote: "For your information I won't be going into Corrie contrary to reports today!! (sic)"

Rapper Snoop Dogg has also expressed an interest in appearing in the Weatherfield soap.
