Corrie's Cleaver 'wants Todd return'

Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has revealed that she wants on-screen son Todd (Bruno Langley) to return in time for the soap's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV1 serial, also said that she has always wanted to appear alongside one of the show's veteran characters.

According to Inside Soap, she said: "I’d love to see Todd back, but it’s out of my power, sadly!

“When I last spoke to Bruno, he was enjoying being a daddy."

When asked who she would ideally have return for the soap's milestone year, Cleaver added: "Sadly, Violet Carson is dead, but I’d want Ena Sharples back.

“I’d love to do a scene with Eileen and Ena in the old snug of the Rovers - that would be perfect.”

Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson recently told DS that no former characters would be returning for the 50th anniversary.
