The actors - who played Weatherfield double act Curly Watts and Reg Holdsworth - are thought to be currently awaiting scripts for the spinoff, which is due to be released at Christmas.
Kennedy, who was last seen on the cobbles in 2003, told The Sun: "It's great to be back with my old sparring partner - it will be a lot of fun."
Meanwhile, Morley added: "It is tremendous to be working with [Kevin] again."
Speaking of the project, a source told the Daily Star: "Getting the pair of them back for a Christmas special DVD will be a massive seller this festive season, especially as it coincides with the 50th anniversary celebrations."
Reports suggest that the DVD's plot will see the duo meeting by chance and going on holiday together.
Previous Coronation Street DVD releases have included 2008's Out of Africa and last year's Romanian Holiday special.
