Speaking to Soaplife, the veteran - Corrie's longest-serving star - revealed details of how 46-year-old Linus and 24-year-old James arrive on the Street as Lawrence and Bill.
He explained: "Norris and Emily find the letter behind the skirting board at number three. It's been there since 1960 and is from an old girlfriend of Ken's called Susan Cunningham, asking if they could meet up after the split. Ken's intrigued and decides to try and track her down."
"He's everything Ken would want a son to be - cultured, sophisticated and handsome of course," Bill added of Lawrence.
